We-Ko-Pa Golf Club – Cholla Course

If you are more of a novice golfer, the Cholla Course may be the perfect fit for you. We-Ko-Pa Golf Club offers two 18-hole courses in total. The Saguaro Course is known to be more challenging than Cholla. Both courses are unique and beautiful in their own way. If you want your golf experience to include the iconic Arizona scenery, the Cholla course will give you that with its cacti and mountain views. The Saguaro course may be better if you want a more significant challenge than the Cholla course could provide, as it is highly rated as a challenging but fair course by those who have played it.

Desert Highlands Golf Club

Desert Highlands Golf Club (pictured above) is a private 18-hole golf course in Scottsdale, Arizona. This golf course, which opened in 1981, was designed by Jack Nicklaus and had a par of 71. The spectacular Desert Highlands Golf Club is known for its complicated skill level and beautiful desert landscape. It’s also the number 1 rated course in Arizona according to Golf Digest and was ranked among the “Top 100 You Can Play”. It’s no wonder Desert Highlands has been called the most challenging course in Arizona and the most beautiful.

Desert Canyon Golf Club

Head over to the Desert Canyon Golf Club and try your hand at a course designed by Red Lawrence. It opened in 1998, so it’s relatively new, but that doesn’t mean you can just walk all over it. Desert Canyon will challenge even the most seasoned of players—but this makes it all the more rewarding when you can pull off difficult shots and make some impossible-looking putts. The golf club is open to the public, which means anyone can give it a whirl; no matter how good (or bad) you are, Desert Canyon has a fun, challenging course for you to play on.

At 6,547 yards with a par 72, Desert Canyon is not for your average golfer.

The Boulders Resort and Golden Spa – North Course

Are you looking to hit the links during your trip to Arizona? Then be sure to check out the North Course at The Boulders Resort and Golden Spa.

The resort is located in Carefree, north of Scottsdale and east of Phoenix. The city was originally founded by two guys who wanted a fun place for their friends to come to visit them, so they built a fake town. There are still two types of streets here: “real” streets with names like Desert Mountain Blvd and “fake” streets with names like Easy Street and Ho-Hum Rd. This course is one of two on the property; it’s known for its expansive greens, rolling fairways, and excellent views.

If you’re going to play golf in Arizona, this should be on your list!

Talking Stick Golf Club – North Course

#3. Talking Stick Golf Club – North Course

is an 18-hole, par 71 course, measuring 6,823 yards from the back tees and incorporating all of the natural elements found in Arizona golf: waterfalls, streams, and ponds. The North Course was designed by Bill Coore and Ben Crenshaw and was added in 1999 to complement the existing South Course designed by Bill Weiskopf. Both courses are ranked in the top 100 resort courses in America.

Other than the fact that it is located in the heart of Phoenix’s most exclusive residential area, there is not much to say about Legend Trail Golf Club that you won’t be able to pick up by just looking at its website. It has a lot of pictures, and they are all beautiful. The course is surrounded by other golf courses, giving the feeling that nature completely envelops the player. The average price for a round here ranges from $135-$190 depending on what month it is, so if you are trying to save some cash, make sure to play out of season (May through September). Kids under 12 can tag along for free and rent their own set of clubs for $5 per round. Legend Trail Golf Club also offers free parking and online booking!

Arizona is a great place to visit for golf.

You know, golf can be a great way to relax. If you’re looking for a place to visit for your next golf getaway, consider the Grand Canyon State of Arizona.

Arizona is one of the best places in America to play golf because it’s warm and dry. The two factors that lead to this are that Arizona is located in the Sonoran desert, and the elevation of most courses in Arizona ranges from 2000-to 3000 feet. The desert climate has few clouds and little humidity compared to other locations around America, making it typically beautiful and sunny year-round. This makes it easy on your eyes as you travel between holes and creates an enjoyable day out on the course with friends, even during the winter months! Most people don’t realize that Arizona is one of the largest wine-producing states in America! With all these things going for it, no wonder why so many people have chosen Phoenix as their retirement destination!
