DESCRIPTION:Adventure Awaits – Links iconic trails and towns for one monumental undertaking of 250 consecutive miles on foot. From Black Canyon City up into the Bradshaw Mountains – an area steeped in gold mining lore – to the historic town of Crown King. The course then traverses more of the Bradshaws up and over Mount Union\, and snakes down into Prescott where it cuts straight through town on Whiskey Row and out into the iconic Granite Dells. From Prescott the course heads up and over Mingus Mountain into the town of Jerome and onward through Sedona\, experiencing a mix of stunning red rock formations and high desert vistas. As runners leave Sedona\, the course starts to get into the pines of Flagstaff\, over Mt Elden and finishes in downtown Flagstaff. New vendors are highly encouraged to apply. \nThe Mountain Artist Guild Mother’s Day Fine Art Festival is hosted by The Mountain Artists Guild\, a 501c(3) non-profit organization dedicated to the promotion of the visual arts in the Greater Prescott Area. SUMMARY:Study the Stars from Homolovi
DESCRIPTION:Star parties take place monthly April through November at Homolovi State Park. The events feature a guest speaker from 7 to 8 p.m. in the visitor center followed by dark sky viewing through the Winslow Homolovi Observatory’s Moore Telescope. Night sky targets will change throughout the year but may include deep space nebulae\, star clusters\, and more. Homolovi is the only one of Arizona’s state parks that contains its own observatory. Each event is free with park admission. \nThank you to the Little Colorado River Valley Astronomy Club for supporting these astronomy events.
