For the adventurous spirit with a love of the outdoors, you can now stay at one of the most unique hotels in America. Located 200 feet below ground and beneath a working ranch, Grand Canyon Caverns offers an authentic western experience for travelers seeking something a little different. You can take tours deep into the caverns or stay in a suite that’s located within the largest dry caverns on earth. If you’re looking for an outdoor adventure with a twist, then this is definitely something you want to check out!
If you’re interested in staying in the Grand Canyon, but don’t want to rough it like a caveman (or cave woman), check out the only hotel located within the park. Located on the north rim of the canyon, Grand Canyon Caverns is a popular destination for tourists and locals alike. The caverns date back 11 million years and were discovered by an early explorer named John Wesley Powell who was also responsible for discovering and charting much of the Colorado River.
The property offers rooms ranging from standard rooms or suites with full amenities including kitchens and private balconies (so you can enjoy both views). If you’re looking for something even bigger, they offer special packages such as weddings which include accommodations for up to 200 guests!
The Grand Canyon Caverns Suite is a one-of-a-kind experience that takes you 200 feet below ground into an extraordinary suite carved out of the rock. This is the only suite in the world and it’s also located in Grand Canyon Caverns, which are the only caverns located within Grand Canyon National Park. When you stay here, you’ll have access to all of those things that make this place special: views of ancient rock formations, deep underground tunnels, and miles upon miles of time spent away from cell service (so you can really unplug).
The best part? You don’t even have to leave your room! The suite includes a microwave oven as well as dishes for two adults and two children up to 10 years old.
The restaurant is a short walk from your suite. It’s located just outside the Caverns and has a spectacular view of the Grand Canyon. The building is made out of native rock and you can see it from far away. It’s also a great place for lunch or dinner, especially if you want something more than what’s provided at the suite.
Take a guided tour to the subterranean depths of Grand Canyon Caverns. Tours are available for both individuals and groups and can be reserved online or by calling 1-800-843-6945. Tours are not wheelchair accessible, but wheelchairs may be rented at the entrance of the caverns. Pregnant women should not take these tours, nor should children under 6 years old.
