California native Ron Lou spent four years in the National Football League as a center for the Houston Oilers and later the Philadelphia Eagles. Following his retirement from professional football, he dedicated the next 35 years to developing five different restaurant concepts, including a breakfast eatery, a sports bar, and three distinct Chinese restaurants. Eager to embark on another venture, Lou sought to create something distinct—not just another wing, burger, or pizza establishment.
In 2013, Lou’s vision culminated in the launch of Angry Crab Shack. By combining the bold flavors characteristic of Asian cuisine with his expertise in seafood, he introduced a seafood boil to Mesa, Arizona. Angry Crab Shack quickly became a family-friendly neighborhood restaurant, known for its lively atmosphere and high-quality seafood at an affordable price.
With the expansion of Angry Crab Shack, Lou emphasized building a family-like culture among employees and fostering a spirit of community involvement. As the restaurant chain grew, so did its commitment to giving back, forming long-term partnerships with local charities and contributing to those in need.
Now expanding into new states, Angry Crab Shack continues to draw seafood lovers from near and far, offering a diverse menu, exceptional service, and genuine hospitality in a unique dining environment.
